About the Role
Mackay Base Hospital Emergency Department (ED) is a Level 4 clinical service providing care for both adult and paediatric patients. The ED includes 2 Resuscitation/Trauma bays, 3 High Dependency (HDU) bays, 12 acute bed spaces, 5 Paediatric bays, 12 Fast Track, 16 Short Stay beds, 2 Mental Health bays, and 1 isolation HDU bay. The ED sees an average of over 150 patients per day.
 
Mandatory Experience / Skills:

• Minimum 3 years Emergency Department experience

Desirable Experience:

• Knowledge of ieMR and proficiency in using this system
• Previous experience working in Australia, QLD Health, and/or Mackay HHS

Additional Requirements:

• Integrated electronic medical record training
• Online induction training
• Any other training as requested by the HHS

Role: Registered Nurse - Grade 5

Start Date: 02/02/2026
End Date: 01/03/2026
Duration: 4 weeks
Hours: Full-time, 80 hours per fortnight (overtime applies after 80 hours)
Shifts: Rotating 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts as per roster
