Southern Gold Coast Laboratories Is a mineral sands and critical mineral specialist laboratory located on the SE coast of Queensland.

SGCL located at Currumbin on the beautiful Gold Coast Queensland is offering a role as a laboratory assistant in the fastest growing mining industry in Australia. The critical minerals industry is the backbone to green energy and electrification of energy efficient motor vehicles and green power generation.

SGCL supports the only mineral sands processing facility on the east coast of Australia and has an exciting opportunity for the right person to learn and grow in a NATA accredited laboratory.

SGCL supports mining companies internally and externally with accurate analysis of mining and process sample analysis  assisting with process design, production and sales worldwide.

You will be responsible for the accurate and efficient collection, weighing and analysis of mining samples.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

·        Perform the preparation assay or analysis of samples in a timely manner

·        Ensure all samples meet strict Quality, Health and Safety standards

·        Maintain numerical system of order

·        Adhere to all documented and verbal safety instructions

·        Undertaking of all documented laboratory methods for which you have been trained

·        Assist in clean-up of glassware and laboratory equipment

·        Assist in NATA recording

·        Using pipettes and other laboratory measuring devices

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

·        Current drivers license

·        The ability to work unsupervised

·        The ability to pass a drug and alcohol test

·        Practical experience in a Laboratory highly regarded yet not essential

·        Be a team player and demonstrate the willingness to learn
