How You’ll Make An Impact

As a Disability Support Worker with One Doorway, you will join a team of other carers, responsible for caring and supporting people with disabilities in their homes.

A day in the life as a Disability Support Worker with One Doorway may see you:

Support participants to meet their goals particularly in alignment with their NDIS plan with a focus on safety, dignity, and client goals.Support the participant with behavioural and mental health needsProvide in-home support with health requirements, personal care and daily living tasks in alignment with the participant needs and the Care Team support requirements Assist with the delivery of activities to enhance the development of capacity and skills across physical, social, emotional, and intellectual domainsAdvocate for participants and empower with choice and control

What We're Looking For

As a patient, flexible and understanding individual with a supportive and caring nature, ideally with experience within the disability or health care sectors, you’ll have;

Compassion and empathy to make a difference in people’s lives. You must have experience with participants that have high needs and complex behaviour and must have good communication skills. A commitment to the rights of people with disabilities to live dignified livesStrong listening and communication skills and be detail-orientated A patient, flexible, understanding, supportive and caring natureAn ability to accept responsibility and work as part of a team

Desirable, however not essential;

Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent. Valid driver’s licence with access to a comprehensively insured vehicle.
