The role & you

MidCoast Council is looking for a skilled and motivated Team Member Water Network Construction to join our Water Project Delivery team. In this hands-on role, you’ll assist in constructing and maintaining high quality water and wastewater infrastructure that supports our community every day.

As a main function of this role, you will have an understanding of the knowledge and physical abilities involved in pipelaying and the under taking of a range of critical tasks to ensure successful pipeline installations.

A Typical Day Might Include

Construction and maintenance of water and sewer infrastructureOperating plant and equipment including excavators, loaders, and cranesSupporting emergency and planned worksWorking safely in line with WHS standards and Council procedure

We're looking for a motivated team player who is willing to learn, grow, and contribute to the essential services our community relies on.

To Be Successful, You Will Have

Trade qualification or extensive experience in water/sewer constructionCompetency operating plant and equipment (e.g. excavator, loader, VLC)A team player with a strong work ethic and commitment to safetyPhysically fit and willing to work outdoors and respond to urgent works

Mandatory Qualifications Or Willingness To Obtain

White CardMR Driver’s LicenceConfined Spaces, Asbestos Handling & Traffic Control certificationsNULCA underground asset locationCert III in Water Operations

Please note that to be a successful candidate for this role you’ll be required to complete a pre-employment medical check (this will include a drug and alcohol test, sight and hearing, functional and medical component)

Salary:Commencing salary package range circa $62,700 p.a. to $65,900 p.a. plus superannuation. (Dependent on skills and experience.)

An allowance of $137.53 per week will also apply. (Water Allowance)

Location:Upon commencement your normal place of work will be the MidCoast Council's Depot located in Tuncurry, Grey Gum Road. You may also be required to be based from other Council sites across the MidCoast Council region.

Tenure:Permanent, Full Time.

Closing date:Sunday 8 February 2026 at 11.30 pm.
