APS5 Quality Officer for a Federal Government Agency | $55.24 per Hour + super

A large Federal Government organisation is seeking experienced APS5 Quality Officers to support work relating to performance, quality assurance and continuous improvement. Your new role 
As an APS5 Quality Officer, you’ll be responsible for moderately complex to complex work under limited supervision. You will apply legislation, policy and procedural frameworks to assess quality, ensure compliance, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.Working as part of a supportive team, you will review case files, evaluate decisions, document findings and contribute to uplift in operational standards across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing a caseload of moderately complex quality reviews
  • Conducting quality assurance and quality control activities across planning and decision‑making processes
  • Applying legislation, policies, procedures and standards to assess the accuracy and compliance of recorded decisions
  • Providing clear, objective written commentary to support review outcomes
  • Recording data and analysis using designated tools and systems, with strict adherence to privacy and security requirements
  • Identifying risks and escalating in accordance with established processes
  • Contributing to improvement strategies and continuous improvement activities
  • Identifying best practice through qualitative and quantitative review
  • Supporting team members through knowledge sharing and mentoring
  • Managing workflow requests and responding to queries through JIRA or similar platforms

What you'll need to succeed 
You will demonstrate:

  • Experience working with qualitative and/or quantitative analysis
  • Confidence conducting quality assurance or audit‑based activities
  • Ability to interpret and apply legislation, policy, procedures and standards
  • Strong written communication skills, including the ability to convert technical information into clear commentary
  • High attention to detail and accuracy in data recording
  • Sound judgement and the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Analytical thinking and the ability to draw logical, evidence‑based conclusions
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and the capacity to learn government business systems (e.g., CRM platforms)
  • Must be an Australian Citizen
