Restaurant Manager / Assistant Venue Manager – Full Time

Micawber Tavern is a busy, well-loved local pub known for great food, strong service standards, and a welcoming community atmosphere. We’re on the lookout for an experienced Restaurant Manager / Assistant Venue Manager to join our leadership team on a full-time basis.

About the Role

Working closely with the Venue Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day operations of the venue, leading the front-of-house team and ensuring exceptional service across all shifts. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced pub environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, train, and motivate FOH staff to deliver consistent, high-quality service

• Oversee daily service operations, including opening and closing procedures

• Assist with staff rostering, wage control, and labour management

• Maintain venue presentation and service standards at all times

• Handle customer enquiries and resolve issues professionally

• Liaise with the functions team and Head Chef to plan and execute events

• Support stock control, ordering, and supplier relationships

• Ensure compliance with RSA, OH&S, and food safety requirements

About You

• Minimum 2 years’ experience in a supervisory or management role within a pub or restaurant

• Strong leadership and communication skills

• Confident running shifts and managing busy services

• Experience coordinating events or functions is highly desirable

• Proactive, organised, and solution-focused

• Solid understanding of labour costs, service flow, and team management

• Valid RSA certificate
