The Opportunity:
Help shape the next generation of pine seedlings while supporting vital field operations across our plantation estate. This role is primarily focused on nursery production at Blowering Nursery, with additional contribution to forestry operations across the Tumut Management Area when required.

About the role:
From Autumn through to Spring, you’ll be primarily based in outdoor nursery production at Blowering Nursery, performing practical, repetitive tasks to ensure our radiata pine seedlings are grown to specification. Your duties will include setting up sowing equipment, grading and consolidating seedlings, operating nursery machinery, and maintaining all gear in good working order. Please note, this work is outdoors and undertaken in all weather conditions, including during hot spells.

During summer, you’ll shift focus to supporting forestry operations across the Tumut Management Area. This involves tasks such as fire trail and road maintenance, managing weeds and pests, looking after recreation areas, and participate with fire readiness duties within your competency.

Depending on the role the preferred candidate will be required to satisfactorily complete a Drug and Alcohol screening, and/or Medical Assessment and/or a Fire Task Based Assessment (TBA).
For roles requiring, the successful candidate(s) must be fit to perform firefighting activities, which may include working in smoky conditions and the ability to be physically active in uneven or steep terrain. Offers of employment for these roles are subject to the results of the pre-employment Medical Assessment which may preclude candidates high risk conditions from being able to meet the inherent requirements of the role.
