Support the overall functioning of Children's Services through providing direct care, education and support to patients and their families.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for several Clinical Nurses (Paediatrics) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

• Support the busy flow in and out of the 36- bed unit
• Provide excellent family centred care, role model expectational professional behaviour and provide guidance/education to families and staff
• Provide knowledge and skills in Paediatric Basic Life Support (BLS), as well as recent Acute Paediatric Nursing experience
• Contribute to the development and review of workplace guidelines

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

• Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent  
• Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
• Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
• Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
• Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
• Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary

• Permanent full time and permanent part time (one full time position and one part time position, 22.8 hrs p.f.).
• Base salary ranging from $111 198 - $119 072 per annum, $56.08 - $60.05 per hour

The Children's Inpatient Unit (CIPU) forms part of Children's Services within the Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service. The CIPU is currently composed of 36 inpatient beds providing 24/7 acute care for children, youth and their families in the Gold Coast catchment at Southport.
