About The Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Team Leader – Nursing to lead a dedicated nursing team delivering specialist withdrawal management services. This role provides clinical leadership, comprehensive assessments, and high-quality nursing care to individuals undergoing withdrawal, ensuring their physical, mental, and emotional needs are met in a safe, culturally appropriate and supportive environment.

You will work in alignment with The Salvation Army’s mission and values, relevant legislation, and clinical guidelines, while collaborating with medical and multidisciplinary teams to ensure best-practice care and positive client outcomes.

How You Will Make An Impact

Provide leadership and clinical oversight to the nursing teamDeliver specialised withdrawal management nursing care and clinical assessmentsAssess, plan, implement and evaluate resident care needsMaintain accurate clinical documentation, care plans and reports, including AN-ACC requirementsManage medication ordering, administration and storage in line with policies and legislationLiaise with doctors and allied health professionals to coordinate treatment and careEnsure compliance with relevant legislation, including the Poisons and Therapeutic Goods Act 1996Promote safe practice, infection control and workplace health and safety standards

What You Will Bring

Minimum 2 years’ experience in alcohol and other drugs (AOD) nursing, including mental healthStrong knowledge of withdrawal management guidelines and best practiceDemonstrated skills in triage, medical assessment, decision-making and crisis interventionProven ability to work effectively with people from diverse cultural and religious backgroundsExcellent communication skills, including working with individuals displaying challenging behavioursHigh-level conflict resolution, negotiation and organisational skillsAbility to work autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary teamStrong administration and computer skills

Essential Requirements

Tertiary qualification in NursingCurrent registration with AHPRAWillingness and ability to work shifts, including weekendsCurrent Working With Children Check (Blue Card)Current Driver’s LicenceCompliance with The Salvation Army Code of Conduct, including a drug, alcohol and gambling-free workplaceMinimum two years in recovery
