**The Role:**

Join the Aged Care Volunteer Visiting Scheme (ACVVS), funded by the Australian Government, and help reduce loneliness among older Australians. As a volunteer, youll be paired with a community member who would appreciate regular social visits. You might chat over coffee, share stories, enjoy light games, listen to music, or take a gentle strollwhatever feels comfortable for both of you. Its a simple and meaningful way to bring joy to someones week. Get to know someone new and make a difference in your local community!

**Our Client:**

Were seeking a friendly, kind volunteer to visit a woman in her late 60s living in a residential aged care home in Hobart. She enjoys:

* Crafts, especially knitting and weaving

* Reading romantic fiction and other light, uplifting topics

* Listening to music, with a special love for band music (she once played clarinet in the Clarence City Band!)

* Gardening and flowers

* Warm, relaxed conversation with someone who is genuine and caring

Shes hoping to connect with a volunteer who enjoys chatting and is happy to share simple, engaging activities together.

**About You:**

* Lives in and around Hobart or happy to travel.

* Possess clear communication skills

* Compassionate, patient and an excellent listener

* Passionate about giving back to your community

* Comfortable using technology to provide feedback and connect with the Volunteer Program

* Availability for a flexible six-month commitment

**Time Commitment:**

1 hour per week or fortnight, Monday-Friday 9am-5pm.
