Position Overview:

The Maintenance Officer is a key member of the Scone Grammar School Maintenance Team, responsible for ensuring the upkeep, safety, and functionality of school facilities and grounds.

Experience:

  • Experience driving a Light Rigid (LR) bus and carrying out general vehicle care.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proven experience providing maintenance and cleaning support, with a high attention to detail and pride in work standards.
  • Previous experience working outdoors in a physically demanding role, with the ability to safely carry out tasks such as lifting, operating machinery, working at heights, or in confined spaces.
  • Sound knowledge of workplace safety practices and regulations, with a commitment to safe work at all times.
  • The capability and resilience to perform a wide range of manual and technical tasks to support the day-to-day operations of the College

Essential Criteria:

  • Trade qualification Carpentry, Maintenance or similar
  • Current Light or MR Driving License
  • NSW Working with Children Check
  • National Criminal History Check (Newcastle Anglican will consider the relevance of any reported outcomes)
  • Be committed to our school values and proactively contribute to our team.
  • Applicants will be screened for appropriate child protection purposes as we are a Child Safe School.

Desirable:

  • Qualifications in safety, horticulture or maintenance
  • HR Driving License with driver accreditation
  • Ability to be a part of the on-call roster
  • Previous experience in educational setting

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $32.96 – $39.36 per hour

Expected hours: 38 per week
