About the Role
As the Family Support Coordinator across Kelso State School and Currajong State School, you will play a vital role in supporting children and families to transition successfully into and through school from Pre-Prep to Year 2. You will work collaboratively with families, school staff, leadership teams, and external organisations to provide targeted and intensive support, ensuring positive educational outcomes for all students.
Key responsibilities include:
Collaborating with external partners to support families and improve student attendance, behaviour, and engagement in learning.
Working with school staff to understand student needs and connecting families with health, therapeutic, and developmental services.
Building and maintaining positive relationships with students, families, school staff, and community services.
Providing expertise on the needs of vulnerable children and families to facilitate engagement and improved learning outcomes.
Supporting families to access early intervention services and build capacity to support their child's learning and wellbeing.
This role would suit a compassionate and proactive individual who is passionate about fostering strong connections between families, schools, and the community.
About You
The following traits would be beneficial:
Experience working with families and children from diverse cultural backgrounds, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander communities.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and effective partnerships.
Knowledge of early intervention strategies and support services for children and families.
Ability to work collaboratively within multi-disciplinary teams and external networks.
Proficiency in using data to assess and improve support measures and outcomes.
