Greater Shepparton City Council, situated in the heart of the Goulburn Valley, is the fifth largest provincial centre in Victoria and has a well-developed economy due to its strong agricultural and irrigation base, with major industries related to food processing, manufacturing, transport and health care. The Goulburn Valley is often referred to as 'The Food Bowl of Australia' as around 25% of the total value of Victoria's agricultural production is generated in this area.
Greater Shepparton has a population of approximately 69,000 and is culturally rich with 17.4% of residents being born overseas. The area has excellent education, recreation, cultural, social and health facilities and tourism is a developing focus for the region.

Greater Shepparton City Council is seeking an accomplished and strategically minded Marketing Team Leader to guide the direction, performance and impact of our Communications and Engagement function.
In this role, you will shape how our organisation presents itself to the community, strengthening understanding of Council’s services and enhancing the visibility and value of our work across Greater Shepparton. Your leadership will drive the development of integrated, creative and cost effective marketing initiatives that support behaviour change objectives, major projects and key organisational strategies.
You will oversee a centralised marketing service that partners with departments across Council, ensuring they are equipped with innovative, effective and well targeted campaigns that help achieve their goals. A core responsibility of this role is stewarding the Greater Shepparton City Council brand, positioning it with clarity, consistency and impact, and ensuring Council maintains a strong, positive and contemporary presence within the community.
This position requires a sophisticated ability to think conceptually and strategically, supported by a disciplined data led approach to campaign planning, evaluation and continuous improvement. You will play a pivotal leadership role, providing expert guidance, insight and support to colleagues across the organisation.
Success in this role relies on exceptional communication and relationship building skills, with the ability to cultivate productive internal and external partnerships.
Applicants must hold a relevant qualification and bring extensive experience in marketing, communications, journalism and/or public relations.
