Compliance Officer (AO4) is required for a part-time (2days) contract at a Government Department

Hays are pleased to partner with a government department dedicated to moving and connecting people, places, goods, and services – safely, efficiently, and effectively. They currently require a high-performing and innovative Compliance Officer to join their team part-time (2 set days each week) for a temporary contract with possible extension, based in Cairns.Â
Your new roleÂ
Working within Queensland’s Far Northern Biosecurity Initiative Team, you will be responsible for providing compliance activities. A significant part of the role will involve the inspection of freight, freight yards and vessels for biosecurity risks which may impact the receiving communities in the Torres Strait, and auditing mitigation strategies to reduce these biosecurity risks.

What you'll need to succeedÂ
As the successful candidate, you will be highly organised, have excellent written and verbal communication with strong attention to detail and have a motivated, positive outlook with a compassionate attitude. A strong administration background and experience in compliance or auditing roles would be well regarded.Â
