Job Title: Horse Float Assembly

Position Summary:
The Horse Float Assembly is responsible for the precise assembly of new horse float units and the expert servicing, repair, and maintenance of existing horse floats. This hands-on role requires a strong mechanical aptitude, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to producing work of the highest standard for our equine and customer safety.

Assembly :

  • Install axles, suspension systems, lighting, and wiring harnesses etc.

  • Fit interior fittings.

  • Install and configure horse safety features

  • Conduct pre-delivery inspections (PDI) on completed units to ensure they meet all quality, safety, and functional standards.

  • Prepare floats for customer delivery, including final cleaning and detailing.

General Duties:

  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workshop environment.

  • Operate and maintain tools, equipment, and machinery in good working order.

  • Adhere to all company safety policies and procedures, especially when handling heavy components and working at height.

  • Complete job documentation, service reports, and timesheets accurately and on time.

  • Collaborate effectively with team members, supervisors, and other departments.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in a similar role

  • Strong mechanical and practical skills with proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, and workshop machinery.

  • Ability to weld (MIG) is highly desirable.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.

  • Good physical fitness and the ability to lift heavy items and work in various positions.

  • A valid driver’s license. A forklift license is a plus.

  • Strong commitment to workplace health and safety.

  • Good verbal communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
