ABOUT THE BUSINESS 

Choofas Smokehouse & Seafood is a long-established family-owned restaurant located in the heart of Coolangatta with a unique relaxed vibe, offering a combination of locally sourced Fresh and Cooked Seafood, American Style BBQ Smoked Meats, Australian Angus and Wagyu Steaks, Ribs, Wings, Chicken, Burgers and Salads. 

Choofas Horn Bar offers an extensive range of specialty Rums, Bourbons, Whiskeys, Spirits, Australian wines, plus Tap and Craft Beers. Cocktails are one of our specialties.

We have positions available for experienced FOH Staff. These roles are a key part of our team with the goal being to lift the profile of our restaurant and bar with enthusiasm and professionalism. 

ABOUT THE ROLES

• The positions require people who understand that the priority of our business is to ensure our guests experience the highest possible standard of food and beverage service in a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

• Greeting and seating customers with a strong focus on delivering excellent customer service.

• Table service and monitoring the customers experience.

• The ability to learn an extensive menu in a short period of time.

• Monitoring our online booking system along with guest seating arrangements.

• Maintaining the highest level of cleanliness in the restaurant.

• 4-5 shifts a week with the potential of full time hours for the right candidate

KEY CRITERIA 

• Minimum of 1 year experience in similar roles including table service experience.

• Competent in Point of Sale and restaurant reservation systems.

• Able to work weekdays, weekends and some public holidays.

• Barista experience preferred but not essential.

• Understand and comply with safety and health policies, procedures and role responsibilities.

• High standard of personal presentation and integrity. 

• Ability to work in Australia without restrictions.

• Excellent verbal and written skills in English along with strong communication skills and a can do attitude.

• Strong work ethic and be a team player. 

• QLD RSA is essential.

• A current Australian drivers license.
