Workshop Maintenance Supervisor
We are seeking an experienced Workshop Supervisor to lead the day-to-day operations of our Pinjarra Workshop, overseeing a small team and managing both workshop operations and Rapid Response Breakdown. Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, this role is responsible for delivering safe, efficient, and high-quality maintenance solutions.
This is a hands-on leadership role suited to someone from a trade-qualified background with strong technical capability. The successful candidate will actively support their team with diagnostics, troubleshooting, fault finding, repairs, and maintenance, providing practical, solution-focused outcomes for both internal teams and external clients.
The role is primarily workshop-based, while also managing and coordinating Rapid Response Breakdowns for company-owned and client plant in the field. The position is based on a Monday to Friday, 5:2 roster (10-hour days) and is salary-based, with flexibility required for occasional weekend or after-hours breakdown support when required.
This role will suit someone who sets high standards, leads from the front, and is comfortable building a positive team culture, remaining technically engaged while driving efficiency, safety, and quality across workshop operations.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the daily operations of the Pinjarra Workshop with a small, high-performing team

Provide hands-on technical support to trades through diagnostics, troubleshooting, fault finding, repairs, and maintenance

Deliver planned and unplanned maintenance solutions for both company-owned and client plant

Manage and coordinate rapid breakdown response, delivering timely and reliable maintenance solutions to minimise downtime and support client operations

Ensure high standards of workmanship, safety, and compliance across all maintenance activities

Plan, schedule, and prioritise maintenance work to align labour, parts, and operational requirements

Manage work orders, job tracking, and maintenance documentation

Coordinate parts procurement and inventory to support efficient maintenance execution

Supervise contractors and external service providers

Operate with strong cost awareness and within agreed budgets

Lead team culture, performance, and development

Support the ongoing growth and capability of workshop operations

Maintain strong client-facing engagement, communicating clearly and professionally to deliver effective maintenance solutions and high levels of client satisfaction
About You
-
Mobile Plant Mechanic qualification or equivalent Heavy Mobile Plant trade certification

Dual Trade highly regarded (Auto Electrician)

Proven experience in a workshop supervisory or leadership role within a mining maintenance environment

Strong technical capability with the ability to mentor and support trades

Demonstrated experience in diagnostics, troubleshooting, and complex fault finding

Extensive experience working on major OEM heavy mobile plant, including CAT and Komatsu

Experience maintaining OEM support and ancillary equipment, including Isuzu and other major road transport equipment

Strong understanding of preventative and corrective maintenance practices

Confident in maintenance planning and scheduling

High standards for safety, workmanship, and organisation

Flexible, reliable, and solution-focused with a strong work ethic

Willing to remain hands-on in trade-specific tasks when required
