At Uniting McKay House Tamworth, we have three distinct households, each accommodating up to 20 residents. Our dedicated Uniting Homemaker fosters a vibrant community where residents engage in meaningful and enjoyable daily activities.
We're transitioning to Household Living—an innovative approach to care that will empower our residents to live each day their way, just as they would in any family home.
Position Overview
As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.
Weekday shifts, Monday to Friday (Morning, Afternoon & Night Shift available) Â
Key Responsibilities
- You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life Â
- Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobilityÂ
- Assisting with medication and simple wound dressingsÂ
- Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Must hold a Certificate III or IV in Aged Care/Individual SupportÂ
- Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care. (Highly desirable, not mandatory)Â
- Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.Â
- Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.Â
- Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.Â
- A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
