ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
We are seeking a Casual Facility Operator to join our team at our Waste Recovery Facility in Stawell, Victoria on an average of 1-day per week.
The position will be involved in most aspects of operations at the Acetylene Recycling Facility, light machinery operations, labouring and asbestos removal works.
Key responsibilities will include:
- Compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies
- Enforcing and demonstrating safe work practices in relation to asbestos and acetylene gas.
- Operating forklifts and other mechanical processing equipment.
- Making plastic skip bin liners and lining bins.
- Using hand tools to prepare acetylene cylinders for processing.
- General Labouring, housekeeping and maintenance as required.
ABOUT YOU
You will be interested in developing your career by taking an active involvement in this project and the development of our capabilities in this rapidly expanding industrial hub by helping with an Australian and industry-first facility.
You will have:
- A production and problem-solving focus to achieve daily targets.
- Labouring experience and a willingness to learn.
- Strong communication skills and be able to use own initiative.
- Experience in basic facility maintenance, but not essential.
- Demonstrated ability to take a hands-on approach on site.
- Experience operating a forklift is an advantage but not essential. Additional training can be provided for the right candidate.
