Northern Star Resources Ltd is searching for an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join the Health & Safety Department based at our Kanowna Belle Operations.

This residential position is on a 5:2/4:3 roster, working 10-hour days, providing a great work-home life balance. Be home every night!

Here’s what awaits you:
  • Support site teams and other stakeholders to comply with the Mine Safety Management System (MSMS).
  • Provide continuous support, guidance and direction to personnel and contractors for all safety and health requirements.
  • Conduct regular safety activities to support Critical Risk Management Verifications and other similar field engagements.
  • Conduct and review incident investigations to ensure adequate quality and remedial actions are appropriate, implemented and effective.
  • Develop health and safety initiatives where required and promote across the site.
  • Participate in development and review of risk assessments that support the mine operation.
  • Monitor the compliances from lead and lag indicators, e.g. investigations, audits, inspections, training, regulatory events etc.
  • Conduct Health monitoring sampling and reporting to relevant stakeholders and advise on improvement opportunities.
  • Assist the Health and Safety Department with projects as directed to ensure operational service support in aligned disciplines.
To thrive in this role, you’ll need:

Experience: Minimum 3 years' experience in a similar role, in a mine site environment. Experience in incident investigations, workplace inspections and audits also required.

Qualifications: Certificate IV or Diploma in Occupational Health & Safety, current Australian C - Class Drivers Licence and Senior First Aid Certificate. ICAM, Noise Officer, Mine Air Quality Qualification qualifications is preferred.
