Job Purpose
The Senior HSEQ and Risk Manager will support the Project Director, UGL Regional Linx Senior Leadership team and other relevant leadership team within UGL as required , to facilitate effective implementation of WHS, Rail Safety, Workers Compensation & Injury Management, Environmental (HSE), Quality and Risk processes and systems to continually improve our safety and environmental, qualify and risk performance, and meet legal requirements, and UGL minimum standards.
The role will provide advice and mentoring on WHS, rail safety, worker’s compensation, and environmental, quality and risk compliance matters, as well as assisting in identifying and implementing best practice solutions to prevent incidents. The role will be responsible for ensuring governance processes are implemented to assist management in ensuring the HSE, Quality and Risk legal and business requirements are being met, and injuries appropriately classified.
Key Responsibilities
Manage the performance and development of the HSE, Quality and Risk teams, including Rail Safety, Environment and Heritage and Contaminated lands
Provide guidance and support to the UGL Regional Linx board on the safety performance of the operations. This includes the preparation of periodic and incident reports which enable officers’ due diligence obligations to be met
Ensure that enhancement projects are planned and delivered in accordance with the UGL Management
System requirements and WHS regulations relating to principal contractors’ obligations
Ensure that the HSE requirements of all contract scopes including property, contaminated lands, enhancement works and maintenance works are identified and controlled with visible leadership
Balance the requirements for on-site support and guidance with the HSE administrative requirements
Manage the audit programs and ensure audit outcomes are shared, actions identified and tracked to closure
Develop and implement HSE Improvement initiatives aligned to the needs of the business
Develop the safety improvement strategy for review, approval and implementation
Oversee the incident management process and systems to ensure timely and accurate management, reporting and investigation of incidents
Liaise with the UGL Group HSE function to ensure consistency with HSE strategy and initiatives. Manage the safety culture program and improvement strategy
Oversee the safety governance program including internal and external audits, reporting and management review.
Develop, write, consult and implement HSE, sustainability, Heritage, Environmental and Rail Safety aspects of the Management system of UGL Regional Linx.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualifications, ideally in safety, engineering, health science or environment background.
Lead auditor qualification Investigation training, ideally ICAM
Rail Industry Safety Induction
Cert IV Training and Assessment
ISAP, Infrastructure Sustainability Accredited Professional
