We’re offering an opportunity for a passionate and organised Community Relations Coordinator to join our team in a part-time capacity to play a key role in delivering the Currumbin RSL Group’s Community Benefit Strategy.
About the Role
Reporting to the Marketing & Communications Manager, the Community Relations Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and delivering community-based programs and partnerships across the Currumbin RSL Group.
This role supports the shift to a more outcomes-driven, transparent and strategic community benefit model, balancing immediate community support with longer-term partnerships that deliver measurable social impact. You’ll be the key point of contact for community groups, schools, not-for-profits and internal stakeholders, ensuring programs are well managed, aligned to strategy, and delivered successfully.
Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Coordinate and deliver community programs in alignment with the Currumbin RSL Community Benefit Strategy

Act as the primary liaison for community groups, schools, sporting clubs and not-for-profit organisations

Support the administration and delivery of community grants, sponsorships, prize donations and in-kind support

Coordinate community initiatives across key benefit areas including:

Veteran services and commemoration

Sport and youth development
-
Health, wellbeing and seniors programs

Arts, culture and education
-

Build and maintain strong relationships with community stakeholders and internal teams
-
Assist with community events, activations and recognition initiatives (e.g. grant presentations, community raffles)

Monitor program activity, track outcomes and assist with reporting on community impact

Collaborate with the Marketing & Communications team to promote community initiatives and share impact stories

Ensure programs align with governance, eligibility and accountability frameworks
Required Skills & Experience:
-
Demonstrated experience in community programs, stakeholder engagement, or a similar coordination role
-
Strong organisational and project management skills
-
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
-
Ability to build relationships with diverse community stakeholders
-
Energy, initiative, and able to be the ‘face’ of Currumbin RSL
-
Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple priorities

Confidence working independently while contributing positively to a team environment

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
Desirable (but not essential):

Experience working with not-for-profit organisations, community groups or local government

Knowledge of the Southern Gold Coast community landscape

Experience supporting grants, sponsorships or community funding programs

Background in events, community engagement or social impact initiatives
