About The Role
Are you passionate about protecting community safety, the environment and public amenity? We are seeking a Compliance Officer with high integrity to join our new Private Works Compliance Team and play a vital role in monitoring and enforcing the safe and lawful use of private land across the region.
In this role, you will undertake proactive and reactive surveillance, investigations and enforcement activities relating to building works, land use and other private-land activities. You will help ensure compliance with key legislation, approvals, standards and Council policies supporting a safer, more equitable and more sustainable community.
This position requires strong organisation, attention to detail, integrity, adaptability and a commitment to being fair, reasonable and consistent. The role requires a person that can build effective working relationships and provide education to residents, businesses and contractors to help prevent non-compliance before it occurs.
To be considered for this position you will need to:

What have you found to be the key factors to improve chances of a successful conversation?Tell us how you have managed competing priorities or work autonomously to complete tasks using specific example/s. How did you organise these tasks to ensure effective and timely outcomes?

This position is located at Council's Grafton office, however, this may change should business needs identify other work locations to be more appropriate to deliver our services in the future.
