as a PACS Band 6 ($85,494 - $91,666) under the City of
Kwinana’s structured remuneration system.
What’s On OfferAn exciting opportunity has
arisen due to an internal promotion at the City of Kwinana. We are now looking for a motivated and detail-oriented individual to join
our Engagement and Place team. As our new Civic Events and
Functions Officer, you will be responsible for the planning and delivery of the City’s civic events, citizenship ceremonies and functions.
The successful candidate will work closely with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders to deliver high quality functions and will contribute to the success of City-led
endeavours, leading to effective and well-attended events.

What You’ll
Need
- Considerable experience
in a similar events or functions management role, preferably
within the local government sector. - Knowledge of current
policies and guidelines relating to event management. Highly
developed project management, planning and organisational
skills, including the ability to work under pressure and meet
challenging timeframes. - Highly
developed interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and
relationship building skills with an ability to provide a high
level of customer service. - Physical
capacity to undertake manual handling for setting up and
packing down events and functions, delivering and installing
promotional signage and materials and other related manual
handling tasks - Willingness to work
after hours and weekends, as required. - Well-developed
analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving
skills. - Tertiary
qualification in events management, public relations, community
development or related fields, or extensive relevant industry
experience considered favourably. - Well-developed computer
literacy skills demonstrated in report, grant and/or policy
writing, record management and correspondence. - Driver’s licence,
Police Clearance, First Aid Certificate. - Experience in planning
and/or delivering Citizenship Ceremonies will be highly
desirable.
