G & H Consulting Pty Ltd – Heinrich Racing stables on Gold Coast, QLD currently has the following Full-time positions available.

HORSE TRAINER/TRACKRIDER

Duties include:

• Train and educate thoroughbreds of all ages in riding trackwork, pace/timed, jumpouts and on the ground
• Report any issues identified in riding work and around stables
• Provide and maintain health care, nutrition and well-being of horses

· Identify and treat minor injuries/health issues and report serious conditions to Head Trainers and Snr staff

• Data management and reporting

HORSE TRAINER/FOREPERSON

Duties include:

• Train and educate horses on the ground inc groundwork, walker, swimming, barriers, accept gear, being handled, etc
• Supervise training plans and report back to Head Trainers
• Manage daily organisation of the stables inc racehorses, stable cleaning and maintenance of gear, equipment, feed, supplies and facilities
• Supervise race day and trials/jump outs

Essential Skills/Qualification:

• A Certificate III or equivalent international qualification or at least 3 years full-time or equivalent relevant experience
• Minimum 1 years full-time or equivalent experience at skilled level
• Proven knowledge and experience of horse handling and training methods specific to the thoroughbred racing industry
• Proven ability to train and educate racehorses
• Oral and written communication skills of a level to take instruction; provide information and advice to others and prepare reports
• Ability to work in a team and independently
• Sound knowledge of health and safety obligations and demonstrated skills in safe operation of equipment relevant to the training and preparation of racehorses

Salary in the range of $75,000 to $80,000 per annum subject to experience/responsibility plus super.
