John Hunter Hospital is seeking an exceptional senior leader to join our Medical & Interventional Services (M&IS) Leadership Team at a pivotal time of growth, innovation, and transformation.

About The Opportunity

As a key member of the M&IS Leadership Team, you will provide strategic and operational leadership across a diverse and complex portfolio of medical and interventional specialties. With overarching responsibility for the operational performance of M&IS, you will play a critical role in setting direction, driving improvement, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality, patient-centred care.

You will lead the vision, planning, development, and continuous evolution of M&IS, ensuring they are efficient, sustainable, and responsive to the needs of patients, clinicians, and the broader health system.

Key Responsibilities

Provide senior, visible leadership across all Medical & Interventional ServicesDrive strategic planning, service redesign, and performance improvement initiativesChampion excellence in clinical practice, patient safety, and health outcomesFoster strong collaboration across multidisciplinary teams and organisational partnersLead operational performance, workforce planning, and resource optimisationEmbed a culture of safety, innovation, accountability, and continuous improvementPartner closely with the John Hunter Hospital Executive to deliver organisational priorities and strategic objectives
