This is a rare and exciting opportunity for a highly capable explosives professional to step into a Triple Threat role, supporting Dyno Nobel operations across Australia. This position has been designed for individuals who thrive on variety, flexibility, and continuous development.
As an Operations Specialist, you will be trained and deployed across Surface MPU operations, Underground MPU charge-up, and DynoMiner Technician support, providing critical relief coverage across multiple sites—often at short notice. Dual-trained candidates and those with supervisory or coaching experience will be highly regarded.
About the Role
This role offers a unique pathway to upskill across multiple disciplines within Dyno Nobel, positioning you as a highly versatile and in-demand operator. You will work closely with Dyno Nobel teams and customers, coaching operators, supporting safe blasting operations, and maintaining our specialist assets. You will also be involved in the mobilisation and setup of new sites.
You will be expected to demonstrate professionalism, technical competence, and strong communication while representing Dyno Nobel across a wide range of sites and commodities.
Key Responsibilities:
Surface MPU Operations

Operate MPU vehicles delivering emulsion-based explosives for blasting

Conduct pre-start checks and weekly inspections of assets
-
Assist with preventative maintenance and troubleshooting
-
Support explosive-related activities
-
Share knowledge with Dyno and customer operators
-
Build strong customer relationships
Underground MPU / Charge-Up Operations
-
Operate UG MPU vehicles to deliver quality blasting products
-
Prepare and charge blast holes, including prep, loading, priming, and stemming
-
Support development and production blasting
-
Maintain high safety and communication standards underground
-
Conduct pre-start checks and weekly inspections
-
Uphold professionalism and site standards
DynoMiner Technician Support
-
Maintain and support PLC-controlled, hydraulically powered DynoMiner Profiles
-
Perform underground fault finding during breakdowns (major servicing completed on surface)
-
Lead day-to-day upkeep of equipment, spares, and work areas
-
Carry out planned maintenance, breakdown repairs, and continuous improvement upgrades
-
Partner with key customer stakeholders to ensure asset reliability
