Job Description

Are you a detail-oriented Bookkeeper with experience in the NGO / non-profit sector? We are looking for a mid-level Bookkeeper to support our organisation with financial management, grant reporting, and governance-related financial processes.

Roles and Responsibilities

Maintain accurate financial records and bookkeeping systemsAssist with tax returns, compliance, and statutory requirementsCode and track grant-related income and expenditure in line with donor requirementsSupport financial reporting for grants, donors, and fundersAssist with governance-related financial documentation, audits, and board reportingEnsure compliance with NGO and donor financial policiesWork closely with programme and management teams to support financial planning and accountability

Qualifications And Requirements

Diploma or Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Bookkeeping3–5 years’ experience in a bookkeeping or finance role, NGO / non-profit experience would be advantageousStrong understanding of grant funding, donor reporting, and complianceKnowledge of tax regulations and NGO financial requirementsExperience with accounting software appropriate for South African Non ProfitsHigh attention to detail and strong organisational skillsAbility to work independently and meet deadlinesMust have own vehicle
