Role Purpose 

Ecosure is seeking an experienced and motivated Ecological Restoration - Revegetation Supervisor to lead our field teams in delivering high-quality ecological restoration projects across Queensland. This role is ideal for individuals with a strong background in bush regeneration, team leadership, and environmental management who are passionate about restoring and protecting Australia’s unique ecosystems. 

You will plan, coordinate and oversee revegetation activities in compliance with environmental legislation, Work Health & Safety (WHS) regulations and best-practice revegetation techniques. You will also mentor and support field staff while maintaining strong stakeholder relationships to ensure successful project delivery. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: 

Team Leadership and Supervision 

  • Lead and mentor a team of Bush Regenerators and Trainees, ensuring high performance and professional development. 

  • Provide on-site training and technical guidance in bush regeneration techniques. 

  • Coordinate daily work schedules, ensuring efficiency and adherence to project objectives. 

  • Foster a positive and safe work culture, ensuring all WHS procedures and followed. 

Project Coordination and Execution 

  • Plan and oversee weed management, revegetation, and habitat restoration activities. 

  • Conduct site assessments to inform restoration strategies and monitor progress. 

  • Ensure environmental compliance with relevant legislation, permits, and best practices. 

  • Operate and maintain field equipment – e.g. chainsaws, brush cutters, and chemical application tools. 

  • Work collaboratively with project managers and ecologists to develop and implement restoration plans. 

Stakeholder Engagement and Reporting 

  • Liaise with clients, landowners, and regulatory authorities to ensure project success. 

  • Conduct site meetings and communicate project updates to internal and external stakeholders. 

  • Maintain accurate field records, data logs and progress reports for compliance and reporting purposes. 

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Certificate III or IV in Conservation and Ecosystem Management (or equivalent). 

  • Construction White Card 

  • Legally entitled to work in Australia 

  • ACDC License (Agricultural Chemicals Distribution Control). 

  • Current Australian manual driver’s license (4WD experience beneficial). 

  • First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain. 

EXPERIENCE & MAINTENANCE 

  • On-ground revegetation experience: proven track record in ecological restoration, planting techniques, site preparation and maintenance. 

  • Supervising planting crews and subcontractors: demonstrated ability to lead and manage diverse teams, allocate tasks and maintain productivity. 

  • Project coordination: communicate effectively with project managers, stakeholders and clients to ensure alignment with project goals. 

  • Quality control: ensure planting standards, species selection and site compliance meet specifications. 

  • Efficiency management: streamline workflows to meet deadlines and budget constraints 

  • High level of physical fitness and ability to work in remote and challenging environments. 

  • Experience in GIS mapping or digital data collection tools. 

SKILLS & KNOWLEDGE 

  • Leadership and team management in developing motivated yet respectful approach to managing crews and subcontractors. 

  • Problem-solving under pressure supported by ability to adapt quickly to site challenges and tight timeframes. 

  • Strong communication with clear, professional interactions with stakeholders and team members. 

  • Organizational skills including scheduling, resource allocation and reporting. 

  • Willingness and flexibility to travel to project sites to work across Southeast Queensland and potentially Central Queensland. 

  • Strong knowledge of Queensland’s native and invasive plant species and bushland ecosystems.

  • Resilient under time constraints: Maintains quality and safety even under pressure. 

DESIRABLE 

  • Fire ecology or controlled burning experience (highly desirable). 

  • Chainsaw ticket, operating level 1 or 2 (highly desirable). 

  • Posi track and slasher experience 

  • MR licence 

  • Additional qualifications in WHS or Environmental Management (highly desirable).
