The Workforce Development Officer provides authoritative advice on Gold Coast Hospital and Health Service workforce capability and transformation initiatives for Allied Health, partnering and collaborating to problem solve, create opportunities and design sustainable solutions.

The Role

An opportunity has become available for a Workforce Development Officer (Allied Health) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 13 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.

You will

  • Provide authoritative and timely advice to the Executive Director for Allied Health
  • Manage the sourcing, analysing and interpreting of data, budgets, information and research
  • Provide leadership and guidance to Workforce Development project and support staff
  • Compile reports and provide recommendations to stakeholders on identified training, education and development needs of Allied Health employees

About you

To be successful in this position you will require:

  • Tertiary degree (or equivalent) in one of the following:  Audiology, Health Science (with a strong component of human anatomy and physiology), Nutrition and Dietetics, Physiotherapy, Psychology, Podiatry, Social Work or Speech Pathology
  • AHPRA or eligibility for registration with the relevant professional board
  • Evidence of vaccination or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella and Pertussis.
  • Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
  • Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
  • Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

 Salary

  • Temporary full time (up to 28 June 2026 with the possibility of extension)
  • Base salary ranging from $5,557.50 - $5,798.90 per fortnight

Allied Health Workforce Development Officers (WDOs) work to ensure the integration of workforce analysis and planning, governance, and opportunity for capability development to enable the allied health workforce to meet both current and future service demands. The WDO team supports the AHS leadership and governance team to operationalise the Allied Health Strategic Plan.
