Tropic is the only independent family owned petroleum distribution company left in North Queensland. Tropic is the authorised Ampol Distributor for Northern and Western Queensland and as such we have guaranteed supply of high quality fuels and lubricants. Additionally, we also operate many service stations throughout Northern and Western Queensland.

About the Role:
We are looking for a fleet scheduler to organised and oversee the daily running of our distribution division driver’s and a fleet of heavy vehicles. Delivering dangerous goods and lubricants across North and Western Queensland.
Whilst working independently and with drivers on a daily basis you will plan, schedule and coordinate bulk fuel deliveries and on-site refuelling from fuel tankers to a range of customers across QLD. You will communicate with customers to gain an understanding of their requirements to ensure efficient delivery of product to our customers.
40-45 hour weeks – hours are open for discussion/ shift options available.
Tasks & responsibilities:

Vehicle scheduling.

Load Planning.
-
Route optimisation and vehicle tracking.

Daily management of drivers.
-
Monitoring and review of drivers, deliveries, orders

Receiving and placing customer orders.

Conducting fuel & lubricant sales.
Skills & ExperienceÂ
-
Experience in transport industry - fuel experience would be highly regarded.

Previous transport scheduling experience or similar roll.

Excellent communication skills.

Literacy & numeracy, including computer and technology literate and/or able to and willing to learn.

Customer care and relationship building.
To be successful in this role you will be customer focused and have a basic knowledge and understanding of fleet operations and management. You will have good communication skills and be comfortable dealing with internal and external customers.
