About Uniting Yamba:

Uniting Caroona Yamba has five separate households, each with between 15–22 residents, including a secure Memory Support Unit for people living with dementia. Our Uniting Homemaker ensures that the community is thriving and doing things that are meaningful and enjoyable. 

Position Overview:

As a Care Worker, you will provide compassionate, person-centred care to residents living in our aged care facility. Your support enables residents to retain independence and maximise their quality of life in a safe and nurturing environment.

We have multiple permanent part-time opportunities available across morning, afternoon and night shifts, offering flexibility to suit your availability. Casual opportunities may also be considered.

Key Responsibilities:

• You’ll provide care, companionship and emotional support to residents living in our aged care home, to help support their independence and improve their quality of life  
• Providing daily living assistance such as showering, personal hygiene, dressing, help at mealtimes and with general mobility
• Assisting with medication and simple wound dressings
• Supporting residents in community-based recreational and social activities. 

Qualifications & Experience:

• Certificate III Aged Care/Individual Support is highly desirable OR must be willing to obtain.  
• Previous experience in Aged Care or Community Care, OR a passion to begin your career in aged care.
• Be adaptable, empathetic, and resourceful, and you will be able to live Uniting’s everyday values of being compassionate, respectful, imaginative, and bold.
• Provide a culturally safe and inclusive work environment.
• Ability to adapt to changing shifts if required.
• A genuine passion for elderly care, empathy, patience, and strong communication skills.
