Great opportunity to join a Tier 2 contractor with excellent presence in the defence, industrial, marine and commercial sectors with a strong reputation for delivering quality projects.
A market leading Tier 2 contractor with a proven track record of successfully delivering complex projects, our client is now seeking an experienced Site Manager to join their growing business in Newcastle NSW.
They work across refurbishments, repairs, remediation, demolition, upgrades, HVAC etc. on buildings and civil works as well. Will be running projects from smaller up to $20m however the projects you will be running initially will be a couple of $3m to $5m and under refurbs. Projects are generally Industrial, Defence, Marine or Commercial in nature, experience with similar projects in these sectors or similar across buildings and infrastructure will be an advantage.
Responsibilities include but not limited to:Conduct onsite HSE and quality inductions with all onsite staff / subcontractorsComplete daily site diary entriesReview and manage key project issuesLiaise with statutory bodies ensuring all relevant notifications are madeEnsure site compound and amenities are established and maintainedOrganise all site inspections with clients, authorities and consultantsAssist Project Manager with preparing scopes of workUnderstand head and subcontractor contracts, especially in relation to timeframesProduce and manage defect lists for subcontractors prior to finishing works
Qualifications and Requirements:Trade or building related QualificationMinimum 5 years’ experience in site supervision of construction projects including planning, programming and management of onsite staff / subcontractorsConstruction Safety Induction (White) cardSenior First Aid CertificateDesirable – Certificate IV in Occupational Health & SafetySound knowledge of legislation, regulations and standards relating to building sitesProven ability to lead and motivate subcontractorsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to read and understand construction drawings and specificationsProficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word and ExcelAustralian Citizenship ideally to work on Defence projects
