We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional to join our team in providing support and care to individuals with disabilities in a residential setting. The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with diverse needs and be committed to promoting independence and enhancing quality of life for our residents.
Skills:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Empathy and understanding towards individuals with disabilities
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Ability to remain calm under pressure
Responsibilities:
- Provide direct care and support to residents, including assistance with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication management, and recreational activities
- Develop individualized care plans in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team
- Monitor resident progress and report any concerns or changes in behavior to supervisory staff
- Ensure a safe and supportive environment for all residents
- Assist residents in developing independent living skills
Qualifications:
- Associate degree or equivalent experience in human services or related field preferred
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities
- Current CPR/First Aid certification
- Valid driver's license
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays
Must be female due to nature of client mix.
