Corio Lara Catholic Parish is seeking an enthusiastic, organised, and capable Finance Officer. The Finance Officer plays an integral part in the life of the parish by managing the parish’s finances and assets under the leadership of the parish priest.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- PACEM
- Weekly to monthly, create PACEM invoices for all non-gateway deposits into parish bank accounts to enable reconciliations
- Weekly to monthly, enter all physical envelope contributions into PACEM
- Together with secretary, follow up rejected PACEM direct debits
- Reconciliations
- Set up and manage bank rules in Xero for recurring transactions
- Payroll journals
- Receive payroll information from CAM Parish Payroll
- Create payroll journals in Xero (Gross, net, PAYG, super, annual leave accrual etc)
- Insurance
- Under direction of accountant, create manual journals for insurance loan repayments
- NAB Credit Cards (monthly)
- Receive NAB statement from secretary
- In Xero, allocate GL code to all transactions
- For Term Investments (upon maturation):
- Download transactions in CSV file and upload to Xero
- Then complete bank reconciliations in Xero
- Assist the parish priest with the preparation of quarterly Business Activity Statements (BAS) as required.
- Calculate and review quarterly PRF and Cathedraticum returns, as well as CAM levies (Quota)
- For WorkCover insurance, estimate yearly ratable remuneration and certify previous year’s estimate
- Prepare Xero reports for parish priest and finance committee as required.
- Any other role-appropriate financial task as directed by the parish priest.
WHAT YOU BRING
- Strong administrative skills and proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Xero Accounting Software.
- Capacity to familiarise with PACEM (parish Salesforce database).
