Tablelands Sexual Assault Service (TSAS) is a specialist sexual assault service providing free, trauma informed counselling, advocacy and prevention service on the Atherton Tablelands in FNQ. The workspace is beautiful and the culture is respectful, inclusive, warm and flexible. TSAS provides service delivery across the local rural/ remote region.

About the role

As a Specialist Practitioner you will be working collaboratively and supportively within the TSAS team to deliver high-quality therapeutic support services to children, young people and non-perpetrating adults who have experienced or are at risk of sexual abuse or sexual violence, and children and young people who are engaging in inappropriate or harmful sexual behaviours. The TSAS team achieves this through the provision of individual counselling and support, parent support, family interventions and group programs.

The Senior Practitioner will also work within the TSAS team to develop and deliver prevention and education initiatives to increase awareness, challenge all forms of sexual violence, and create a safer and more trauma informed community.

Essential Requirements:

• Tertiary qualification in Social Work/ Psychology/ Counselling or similar and a valid blue card and drivers license.

• Extensive knowledge, skills and experience in the provision of trauma informed therapeutic counselling and support to children, young people and adults.

• Experience in the provision of staff supervision, including counselling staff who are working with complex cases.
