At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone. We are seeking a motivated and compassionate Allied Health Assistant to support high-quality, person-centred care across a range of Allied Health disciplines.

About the Opportunity

As an Allied Health Assistant, you will work under the supervision of qualified Allied Health Professionals to support clinical and administrative service delivery across inpatient, outpatient, and community settings.

This role plays an important part in enhancing patient outcomes and continuity of care by supporting therapeutic programs, assisting with routine assessments, and contributing to a positive patient experience.

In this role, you will:

  • Assist with direct client/patient/consumer care, including preparation for treatment and delivery of prescribed therapeutic activities.
  • Support Allied Health Professionals with routine evaluations and activity programs, while understanding diagnoses, precautions, and scope of practice.
  • Provide accurate verbal and written reporting of observations to support assessment, care planning, and treatment.
  • Undertake administrative duties such as documentation, data entry, inventory monitoring, and general office support.
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team across multiple sites, managing time effectively and adapting to changing priorities.
  • Comply with NSW Health and CCLHD policies, procedures, and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrate behaviours aligned with Caring for the Coast, NSW Health CORE values, and CCLHD Values and Behaviours Charter.

About You

We are looking for a proactive and reliable individual who brings a genuine commitment to patient-centred care. You will have:

  • Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance (or relevant qualification), or willingness to undertake this training.
  • Previous experience working in a health environment across inpatient, outpatient, and/or community settings.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with sound computer literacy.
  • The ability to work independently and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines.
  • A clear understanding of working within scope of practice and knowing when to seek guidance.
  • A current, unencumbered NSW Driver’s Licence and willingness to travel across sites.
