The Position

The Advisor Inclusion Support Services (AISS) provides professional advice and support to Catholic school principals, teachers, and support staff across the Northern Territory to assist in the development and delivery of individualised programs, differentiated teaching, and Education Adjustment Plans (EAPs) for students with identified special needs and disabilities.

This is a full-time permanent position, commencing immediately or as negotiated.

Key Responsibilities

As Advisor Inclusion Support Services, you will:

Provide expert advice and support to principals, Inclusion Support Coordinators, teachers, and support staff to develop and implement high-quality Education Adjustment Plans (EAPs) and differentiated learning programs.Support inclusive enrolment, transition, and participation of students with additional needs, ensuring compliance with the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Disability Standards for Education (DSE).Design and facilitate professional learning at school and system levels to build staff capability in inclusive education, differentiation, assessment adjustments, and trauma-informed practice.Assist schools to collect, manage, and interpret accurate student data and evidence, including NCCD requirements and diagnostic and screening assessments.Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including specialist services and government and non-government agencies, to coordinate effective support for students and families.Provide specialist advice on assistive technology, assessment accommodations (including NAPLAN and SACE), student transitions across learning stages, and contribute to system projects and advisory teams.

About You

We are looking for someone who:

Is committed to the mission, values, and Catholic ethos of Catholic Education NT and inclusive education in the Catholic tradition.Demonstrates strong knowledge of inclusive and special education theory and practice, including the Disability Discrimination Act (DDA) and Disability Standards for Education (DSE).Brings proven experience in developing and supporting differentiated teaching programs and Education Adjustment Plans (EAPs) for students with disabilities and additional learning needs.Has excellent understanding of curriculum, assessment, and the use of diagnostic and screening tools to inform inclusive teaching and learning.Works collaboratively with principals, Inclusion Support Coordinators, teachers, and external agencies to build capability and improve outcomes for students with inclusion needs.Holds eligibility for teacher registration in the Northern Territory, a current Ochre Card, a valid NT Driver’s Licence, and relevant tertiary qualifications in education and/or special education.
