Health, Safety and Training Officer

Mackay Sugar has a two-year Fixed Term opportunity for a Health, Safety and Training Officer to join our People and Culture Team. This dual role coordinates return-to-work and injury management in line with legislation and company policy, while also leading the administration and governance of HSE systems. It supports planning and compliance for internal and external HSE training, maintaining documentation to meet regulatory and audit standards. The role helps sustain safety and training systems, supports capability development, ensures legislative alignment, and provides training package support to the HRIS team.

• Bring a positive attitude and thrive in team settings
• Strong organisational and communication skills, with attention to confidentiality and stakeholder engagement.
• Experience in Injury management, rehabilitation coordination, or return to work programs, (or a willingness to learn)
• Proficiency in using Learning Management Systems or safety management systems (eg SAP, STEMS, Rapid etc)
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety or equivalent (Desirable, not essential)
• Cert IV in Training and Assessment (Desirable, not essential).
• Strong administrative skills and experience in training coordination, compliance reporting or HSE / training administration
• Ability to interpret legislation and apply policy in practical workplace
• Experience in a high-risk industrial or manufacturing environment is desirable
• Knowledge of learning design principles and digital training tools
