Permanent / Full TimeSalary: $64,207 - $72,166 gross p.a. plus 12% Super Plus Adverse Working Conditions Level 238 hours per week (Monday to Sunday)The waste depot operator positions shall be, on a rotational basis at West Nowra, Huskisson, and Ulladulla, however, will be required to work at the 7 other sites including Kangaroo Valley, Berry, Callala, Sussex Inlet, Bendalong, Lake Conjola or Kioloa recycling and waste depots to meet operational needs.Applications close: Sunday, 8 February 2026 (at midnight)

About The Role

This role supports the safe and efficient operation of Council's Recycling and Waste Depots by following established procedures and working as part of a team to meet regulatory requirements, maintain environmental controls, and maximise resource recovery.

This Includes

Work in co-operation and collaboratively with all team members to achieve Council's waste operational goalsEnsure Supervisors and Coordinators are aware of any difficult and/or sensitive issues as they ariseConduct thorough site and area of operation inspections to identify and action any safety or operational issues prior to opening and closing sites to the public

About You

To be successful in the position, you will have:

Certificate 2 in Waste Management, Civil Construction, or equivalent experiencePrevious experience working in waste management or a civil engineering environmentHold a current HR Drivers licence or be willing and able to obtain as soon as practicableHold or be willing to obtain a current SafeWork NSW Construction Induction Card (i.e. White Card)

We are looking for a dependable team player with practical experience in waste or civil operations, good communication skills, and a strong focus on safety and environmental responsibility. They should hold or be willing to obtain the required licences and work confidently in a busy, hands‑on environment.
