About The Opportunity
The primary purpose of this position is to manage a diverse client portfolio and deliver comprehensive taxation and advisory services, while supporting and mentoring junior staff members.
Reporting to the Director, your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing and reviewing income tax returns for individuals, companies, and trusts
- Preparing financial statements, compliance reports, and depreciation schedules
- Assisting clients with business structuring, tax planning, and trust distributions
- Managing BAS, IAS, FBT, TPAR, CGT, and other compliance requirements
- Attending client meetings to provide proactive, tailored tax and business advice
- Liaising with the ATO for audits, queries, and client representation
- Assisting with QBCC special purpose financials and audit requirements
About You
The successful candidate will have:
- Minimum of 3 years experience in Australian public practice
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Commerce, or a related field
- CPA or CA qualification (completed or near completion)
- Strong technical knowledge of Australian tax laws for individuals, companies, and trusts
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
- Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, XPM, and FYI Docs
- A proactive, positive, and professional approach to client service and teamwork
