About the role

We're seeking fun, committed and compassionate Disability Support Workers to join our team at Recreation & Active Disability Support, located on the Fleurieu Peninsula.

In this casual role, you'll play a vital part in enriching the lives of individuals living with disabilities by providing personalised care and support to help them live independently and participate actively in their community.

What you'll be doing

  • Assisting with daily living activities such as personal care, meal preparation, and household tasks

  • Accompanying and supporting clients to access the community, attend appointments, and participate in social and recreational activities

  • Advocating for clients' needs and rights, and liaising with families, carers, and other healthcare professionals

  • Documenting client progress, observations, and any relevant information

  • Promoting client independence, dignity, and quality of life

  • Ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all clients

What we're looking for

  • Previous experience providing person-centred support to individuals with disabilities or complex needs

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with clients

  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse needs of our clients

  • A genuine passion for making a positive difference in the lives of people with disabilities

  • A current driver's licence and reliable vehicle

  • A strong commitment to upholding the principles of dignity, respect, and inclusion

  • A Certificate III or IV in Disability, Aged Care, or a related field is desired but not essential
