Fixed Plant Serviceman

The Fixed plant serviceman support’s the reliability and performance of fixed plant equipment by carrying out lubrication servicing, oil sampling, inspections, and condition monitoring tasks. The role ensures equipment is maintained safely, efficiently, and in line with OEM and site standards.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Perform scheduled lubrication on, conveyors, pumps, and other fixed plant assets.
  • Apply correct oils/greases and maintain contamination control.
  • Operate and maintain lubrication tools and equipment.
  • Conduct routine oil sampling.
  • Submit samples for laboratory analysis.
  • Support vibration/temperature and general condition monitoring as directed.
  • Inspect lubrication systems for leaks, wear, and defects.
  • Record all tasks in the (CMMS) and complete PM sheets accurately.
  • Raise work requests for identified faults or reliability concerns.
  • Follow all site safety procedures, including isolation and permit systems.
  • Handle, store, and dispose of lubricants and waste oils responsibly.
  • Participate in safety meetings and report hazards or incidents.
  • Work closely with Maintenance, Reliability, and Processing teams.
  • Assist during shutdowns and major maintenance activities.

About You:

Essential

  • Knowledge of lubrication practices and fixed plant equipment.
  • Ability to interpret OEM lubrication requirements.
  • Strong attention to detail and disciplined work habits.
  • Good communication and record-keeping skills.
  • Commitment to safety and environmental standards
  • Exposure to fixed plant equipment in mining or heavy industry.
  • Current C Class driver’s licence.
  • Ability to meet medical and site induction requirements.

Desirable

  • Mechanical trade or previous experience as a Fixed plant serviceman.
  • Confined Space, Working at Heights, and First Aid.
  • High risk -Forklift, EWP, Franna crane
  • Familiarity with CMMS systems (Pronto, SAP).
