Territory Manager (Agricultural Technician) – Broadacre (Agricultural Technician) NSW/QLD

About Tanuki

Tanuki is a well-established importer, distributor and manufacturer of quality inputs for crop nutrition and disease control, supplying a diverse customer base Australia-wide. With strong operational capability, field-applied research programs, and ongoing product development in biostimulants and enhanced-efficiency fertilisers, Tanuki is committed to helping growers achieve optimal outcomes across variable seasons.

Our organisation is future-focused and supported by two complementary ventures – Pyrocal, a global manufacturer of industrial-scale biochar systems; and Fertec, a specialised packaging, logistics and application business delivering micronised gypsum solutions.

About the Opportunity

To support our expanding broadacre operations, we are seeking a technically skilled Agricultural Technician to lead field activities, coordinate trial programs, and provide high-level agronomic support across NSW and QLD.

This role combines hands-on agricultural technical work with territory coordination and stakeholder management, ensuring growers and distribution partners receive accurate information, field insights, and technical guidance regarding Tanuki’s crop nutrition and biostimulant products.

The position involves regular travel throughout the region to oversee field trials, monitor crop performance, conduct sampling, and support growers with evidence-based recommendations.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Field & Agronomy Duties

  • Conduct crop monitoring activities, including soil, plant tissue and product performance assessments.
  • Implement, coordinate and evaluate field trials for biostimulants, biochar products and enhanced-efficiency fertilisers.
  • Collect, record and analyse agronomic data to support product development and improvement.
  • Prepare technical reports, trial summaries and recommendations for internal teams and customers.
  • Provide technical guidance on fertiliser and biostimulant applications to broadacre growers.

Product Development & Research Support

  • Work closely with Tanuki’s R&D team to execute and refine field-based research programs.
  • Provide feedback from trial sites and grower observations to support ongoing product development.
  • Assist in evaluating new formulations and technologies for broadacre use.

Territory Coordination & Stakeholder Management

  • Act as the primary technical contact for growers, distribution partners and industry stakeholders across NSW/QLD.
  • Maintain effective professional relationships with growers, agronomists and industry partners.
  • Provide insights from the field to identify emerging grower needs, seasonal challenges and opportunities for improved product use.
  • Represent Tanuki at field days, technical workshops and industry events in a non-sales, advisory capacity.

Internal Collaboration & Reporting

  • Work closely with senior management to ensure technical activities align with operational goals.
  • Contribute technical input into product information materials and internal training resources.
  • Maintain accurate records, including trial documentation, technical reports and territory activity logs.

About You

Our ideal candidate will bring:

  • Experience in broadacre agronomy, crop monitoring or agricultural technical work.
  • Strong understanding of soil science, crop nutrition and/or biostimulant technologies.
  • Qualifications in Agriculture, Horticulture, Environmental Science or a related field.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate field observations into practical recommendations.
  • Strong organisational skills, professionalism and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently while coordinating activities across a large territory.
  • High level of integrity and commitment to evidence-based agronomic practice.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and data-recording tools.
  • A current driver’s licence and willingness to travel regularly to field sites and customer properties.

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary package.
  • A high level of autonomy and ownership across a key geographic region.
  • Opportunities to contribute to product development and research programs within Tanuki’s innovative portfolio.
