General Farmhand – Broadacre Cropping
Mukinbudin, WA
Casual with strong potential for ongoing work after seeding
$35+ per hour (depending on experience)

We are seeking a reliable and motivated General Farmhand to join our client's team in the lead-up to seeding and throughout the seeding program, with the possibility of ongoing work after seeding for the right person.
It's a family-run broadacre cropping operation covering 5,200ha, primarily growing wheat and barley, with some lupins and oats. You'll be working within a small close-knit family team.

The Role
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys practical farm work and is keen to learn. Duties will include:

  • Spreading, deep ripping and paddock preparation
  • General farm and machinery support work
  • On-farm truck driving

During Seeding

  • Filling seeder using chaser bin and trucks
  • Rock picking (tractor driven rock picker)
  • Assisting with seeder operations
  • Opportunity to learn and progress into driving the seeding rig for the right person

Hours of work

  • Outside seeding: Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm. Provide your own lunch. 
  • During seeding: 7 days per week, typically 12-hour day shifts. Lunch and dinner supplied during seeding. 

Machinery You’ll Be Working With

  • Case Steiger with 80ft Seedhawk air seeder
  • John Deere 8320 with rock picker, spreader, chaser bin
  • Agrifac self-propelled sprayer
  • Kenworth K104 & Western Star truck
  • New Holland & JCB telehandlers

Accommodation & Transport

  • Self-contained donga accommodation provided in Mukinbudin
  • You must have your own vehicle (and drivers licence) for travel to/from town. Fuel will be provided for commuting. 
  • Work ute provided for on-farm use. 

About You

  • Previous farm machinery experience
  • Good attitude, communication, reliability and ability to work in a small team

Start Date

  • Mid-February to early March
  • Seeding April into May
