We are seeking an experienced Carpenter – Leading Hand to run day-to-day site activities and lead a small team of carpenters and apprentices. The role requires strong hands-on carpentry skills, leadership ability, and a commitment to quality, safety, and programme delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise carpenters, labourers, and apprentices on site

• Carry out high-quality carpentry works including:

  • Framing

  • Fix-out

  • Cladding

• Interpret and work from construction drawings and specifications

• Plan daily tasks and coordinate labour and materials

• Ensure works are completed on time and to a high standard

• Liaise with site supervisors, builders, and subcontractors

• Maintain a safe work environment and enforce OH&S requirements

• Conduct quality checks and rectify defects as required

• Mentor and train apprentices and junior staff

Skills & Experience

• Qualified Carpenter (Cert III in Carpentry or equivalent)

• Minimum 5–7 years carpentry experience

• Previous experience as a Leading Hand or Site Supervisor preferred

• Strong knowledge of residential and/or commercial construction

• Ability to read plans and manage site workflow

• Good communication and leadership skills

• High attention to detail and workmanship

• Strong problem-solving skills
