About The OPPORTUNITY
We have a new opportunity for a Senior Systems Engineer : Verification and Validation to join the Combat System Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT). This key position will report to the Verification & Validation Engineering Lead, be offered on a permanent full time basis and will be situated at Osborne, Adelaide. Other interstate locations and employment on a part time basis at 0.8 Full Time Equivalent (FTE) will also be considered.
We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight and hybrid working.
The Combat System Integration – Integrated Project Team (CSI-IPT) support the Royal Australian Navy’s surface fleet while strengthening Australia’s sovereign combat systems capability. This collaboration drives cost-effective, agile solutions and advances continuous naval shipbuilding. The CSI-IPT team design, integrate, test, and deliver the Hunter-class frigates’ integrated combat system and the Hobart-class destroyers’ major combat systems upgrade.
Key Responsibilities Include
Contribute to the delivery of the engineering verification and validation (V&V) team outputs including test and integration planning, asset coordination and the execution for integration and acceptancePrepare and execute system requirement reviews, test readiness reviews and verification review boardsParticipate and represent the CSI-IPT team in working groups, technical and program reviews, managing the closure of actions with stakeholdersAct as a point of contact for engineering V&V activities, collaborate and build good relationships with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining a positive culture within the programIdentify and assist in managing engineering technical risk, ensure testing and evidences provided under test meets statutory and regulatory requirementsDevelop engineering acceptance test procedures and reports, and perform other systems engineering activitiesDrive culture of engineering best practice, efficiency and continuous improvement
About YOU
Extensive verification and validation (V&V) engineering, or engineering testing and evaluation or systems engineering experienceA relevant technical qualificationDemonstrated experience across the systems engineering lifecycle and systems engineering methods, tools and techniquesAbility and willingness to attend short domestic seagoing/sea trial activities, and ability to travel interstateAttention to detail, willingness to learn, ability to work autonomously, good communication and stakeholder management skillsWhilst not essential, defence industry experience or support system/mission system engineering experience, will be highly regarded
