This role is open to applicants who identify as Aboriginal only. An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Learning Specialist to provide tailored support to Developing and Practising Artists in a creative and culturally rich education environment.
 
About the Role
The Learning Specialist will enhance learning outcomes by identifying and responding to student needs, adapting and modifying curriculum, and coaching trainers to ensure inclusive, high-quality teaching. This role is integral to supporting students with diverse learning, social and psychological needs and will also contribute to the delivery of annual performance and cultural events.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Identify and support students with specific learning requirements and develop tailored learning plans.
  • Collaborate with trainers to adapt teaching strategies and assessments.
  • Mentor trainers on best practice in supporting diverse learners.
  • Provide direct learning support in literacy, numeracy, communication and social integration.
  • Build positive and respectful student-trainer relationships.
  • Participate in organisational events including end-of-year performances, auditions, graduations, and orientation activities.
  • Ensure compliance with organisational policies, cultural protocols, and risk management procedures.

About You

  • Relevant teaching degree and significant experience in adult education.
  • Proven success working with students with varied learning and social needs.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and sensitively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills with a commitment to collaboration.
  • High-level communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Experience in using Learning Management Systems and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Understanding of workplace health, safety, and EEO requirements.

Mandatory: National Police Check and Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
