About our Client 
Our client is a highly successful Australian manufacturer with a complex production and distribution network. They are Geelong based and currently have a fantastic opportunity available for an experienced supply chain professional to to lead their outbound freight function in the capacity of 'Outbound Logistics Manager'.

About the Opportunity
Reporting to Senior Leadership level and managing a team of three direct reports, the Outbound Logistics Manager is responsible for leading an inhouse disptach function alongside a range of 3rd party logistics partners to optimise customer service levels to a range of large retail customers, while driving down cost to serve. Specific accountability includes:

• Close coordination with inhouse planning and production functions to ensure a smooth flow of finished product from the manufacturing floor through to customer DC network.
• Managing the performance of various 3rd party logistics partners, including collaboration around optimal transport modes, routes and equipment to consistently meet delivery windows.
• Effective resource planning of personnel, materials handling equipment and returnable assets to meet forecasted customer demand.
• Leadership of supply chain process improvement initiatives, including the ongoing building of capability amongst the broader supply chain team.

The Successful Candidate

• Extensive transport management experience in a fast paced, dynamic food storage or food production environment.
• Exposure to servicing major retail clients.
• Demonstrated experience improving the performance of 3PL partners and building capabiity within your team.
• Highly finessed stakeholder engagement, negotiation and influencing ability.
