About the opportunity

Calling all school leavers and people under 21 years of age! Still trying to figure out what you want to do as a career? Or how to get started? This could be just what you need to help you on your journey.

We have Traineeships up for grabs for two enthusiastic young people to undertake a business traineeship under our Youth Employment Traineeship Scheme (YETS). We’re calling it a career sampler. It’s designed to give you exposure to different possible careers whilst building valuable and highly transferrable administrative skills.

To view the full salary information, list of duties and prerequisites, please view the Information Package.

What you'll learn

This two year Business traineeship will see you rotate through two teams – a year spent in each. The two teams are:

  • People and Safety (HR)
  • Technical Services – Infrastructure Support

These rotations will give you a good mix of administration skills, including:

  • general customer service skills – responding to calls, emails, letters and other correspondence
  • file and record maintenance
  • data input and analysis
  • events and project management
  • a range of Microsoft applications

As you build these skills, you will put them into practice in different ways for the different teams you work in.

You might be exposed to a career that lights a spark for you – that you hadn’t even considered. The traineeship will run for two years, and you will complete a Certificate III Business with TAFE (one day a week) in your first year, and a Certificate IV Business in your second.

Eligibility

To be eligible for this traineeship, you must:

  • Be under 21 years of age at the commencement date
  • Provide your most recent school report. Please upload this in the online application under "Any Other Supporting Documents" section.
